Welcome to PLANNet
PLANNet is a simple visual network diagramming tool that helps you design, plan and document your networks. Never scribble a network on paper again!
Getting Started
To get started with PLANNet, follow these steps:
- Download the latest version of PLANNet from our store.
- Extract the downloaded file to your desired location.
- Run the application by executing the
PLANNet.exe
application file.
Note
PLANNet is available for free until July 1st, 2025, while it's still in beta.
PLANNet's Solution: A Smarter Approach
PLANNet was born from a simple question: "How hard could it be?" to create a network diagramming tool that actually works the way network engineers think.
Port-Accurate Connections
Instead of generic shapes and ad-hoc lines, PLANNet uses schematic node representations for network devices with their actual port layouts. When you connect devices, you drag and drop from one specific port to another, exactly as you would plug in a physical cable. Every connection snaps to a specific port, eliminating ambiguous connections.
Custom Device Catalog
Rather than hunting through stencil libraries, PLANNet lets you build your own device catalog. You can create network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.) with the correct number of ports and layout, then reuse them across projects.
Living Documentation
PLANNet isn't just about drawing pictures – it's designed as a practical network planning assistant. You can annotate each node, port, and link with rich information: IP addresses, MAC addresses, VLAN IDs, link speeds, cable types, and more. Your diagram becomes a living document of your network's design.
From Plan to Implementation
Future features will include the ability to generate deployment checklists from your diagrams, turning your visual plan into a step-by-step implementation guide.
